Terms of Service
By using IDShot, you agree to use the app only for lawful, personal purposes. Effective September 29, 2026.
What IDShot Does
IDShot checks technical specifications only. Final acceptance is decided by the U.S. Department of State.
IDShot checks and fixes the technical file requirements for the DS-160 / CEAC photo upload: size, pixel dimensions, format, file size and color. It only crops, resizes, re-encodes and converts color. It never changes your appearance or background, because official rules do not allow altered photos.
Whether a photo is accepted also depends on things IDShot cannot guarantee, such as expression, lighting, glasses, background and how recently the photo was taken. IDShot does not promise that your photo or application will be accepted.
No Government Affiliation
IDShot is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or working with the U.S. Department of State or any government agency, and it does not submit visa applications for you. Always check the official requirements before you apply.
